Biography

Benjamin is a postdoctoral research associate at The Sydney School of Veterinary Science. His research utilizes high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry with a focus on laboratory-based pharmacokinetics and bioanalytical development. Currently, Benjamin's research is centered on targeted metabolomics, with particular emphasis on diseases associated with the tryptophan pathway, such as feline infectious peritonitis. His work includes understanding how the tryptophan pathway responds to immune regulation, investigating its potential as a diagnostic, prognostic, and monitoring marker. He also explores tryptophan kynurenines as predictive markers to monitor the response to antiviral treatment in cats with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). In addition to his research, Benjamin has been involved in several selected grants related to the clinical efficacy of treatments for feline infectious peritonitis.
