Biography

Dr. Benjamin Wilhite is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. from Notre Dame in 2003 and his B.S. from North Carolina State University in 1997. His research focuses on understanding and manipulating interactions in chemical kinetics, transport processes, and process intensification. Dr. Wilhite is involved in the design of inherently safer reacting systems and in the development of novel separation materials for hydrogen purification and carbon capture. He has received several prestigious awards including the George Armistead, Jr. Faculty Excellence Award in 2018 and the Linda James Harris Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor award in 2015. He is a member of the ISCRE Board of Directors and has also received the ACS Doctoral New Investigator award, NSF CAREER Award, DuPont Young Faculty Award, and an Office of Naval Research Award. Additionally, he serves as the Executive Editor for Chemical Engineering Processing: Process Intensification at Elsevier.
