Dr. Bennett Capers

Biography

Bennett Capers is a Visiting Professor at Columbia Law School, where he teaches Evidence, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure. He is the Stanley D. and Nikki Waxberg Professor of Law at Fordham Law School and serves as the Associate Dean for Research as well as the Director of the Center on Race, Law, and Justice. Capers has extensive experience as a federal prosecutor and has a scholarly focus on the intersections of race, gender, technology, and criminal justice. His writings include articles and essays published or forthcoming in prestigious legal journals such as the California Law Review, Columbia Law Review, and Harvard Law Review, among others. He has co-edited several academic books, including 'Critical Race Judgments: Rewritten U.S. Court Opinions on Race and Law' and 'Feminist Judgments: Rewritten Criminal Law Opinions', both published by Cambridge University Press. Capers has held visiting professorships at the University of Texas Law School, Boston University Law School, and Yale Law School.
