Biography

Benoît Moore has been teaching at the Faculty of Law since 2000 and became a Full Professor in 2011. He served as Associate Dean for Faculty Life and External Affairs and is currently the Interim Dean. In 2006, he was named the Jean-Louis Baudouin Chair in Civil Law. Professor Moore has contributed to and edited numerous books, including 'Droit des obligations' and the eighth edition of 'La responsabilité civile'. He has written many articles and delivered conferences worldwide in his areas of expertise, particularly civil law, contract law, and family law. He has been a guest lecturer at Université Paris II, Bordeaux IV, and Université de Tunis. From 2009 to 2012, he taught at a summer school organized by the Fondation pour le droit continental in Paris. Moore has held the position of Secretary General for ten years and in 2014 was elected President of the Quebec chapter of the Association Henri-Capitant. He became a member of the International Academy of Comparative Law in 2010.
