Biography

Bente Hoeck holds an MSc and a PhD and serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark. Her work focuses on relational care, the significance of life phenomena in nursing, and the development of nursing theory. She is interested in the concepts and practices of knowledge-based versus evidence-based methods in nursing. Additionally, she is involved in developing qualitative meta-syntheses. Bente is also affiliated with UCL Erhvervsakademi and professionshøjskole as a docent since April 2021. Her contributions to research have been recognized through her participation in various workshops and seminars, as well as her roles in peer reviewing manuscripts for the International Journal of Nursing Studies. Bente has been active in organizing various events related to health research and has held positions such as vice chairman of the Danish Nurses Organization. She is dedicated to promoting transparency in health care and enhancing the role of patients as partners in the medical system.
