Biography

N. Benton Parish is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism at Texas A&M University. He specializes in teaching courses related to strategic communication, campaigns, and public speaking. Moreover, Dr. Parish serves as a faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Lambda Pi Eta Honors Society on campus. He holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration with a minor in Public Relations from the University of Florida, earned in 2013, and a Master's degree in Public Relations with a focus on Sports Communication, also from the University of Florida, completed in 2003. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from Syracuse University in 1998. Currently, he is pursuing another PhD at Duquesne University, majoring in Rhetoric and Philosophy of Communication with an emphasis on Corporate Communication and Integrated Marketing Communication. His dissertation focuses on St. Edith Stein’s phenomenology of authentic womanhood. Dr. Parish amassed over 15 years of professional experience in public relations, integrated marketing communication, and sports broadcasting, and he is a member of the Sigma Alpha Pi Leadership Honor Society.
