Dr. Berangere Lartigue

Biography

Berangere Lartigue teaches Carnegie Mellon Architecture’s Doctor of Design program. She is an Associate Professor at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, where she instructs undergraduate students in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics. Berangere has developed courses aimed at initiating research for graduate students in the Master’s program focused on sustainable buildings. Her research interests include thermal characterization of materials, analyzing the relationship between a material’s micro-structure and its macroscopic thermal properties. She explores optimization techniques to improve the thermal performance of building envelopes while considering multiple criteria such as energy consumption, daylighting, and thermal comfort. Furthermore, she develops models to simulate the behavior of building occupants using artificial intelligence techniques. Berangere also serves as an expert reviewer for European projects and is an associate editor for scientific journals.
