Biography

Bernabé Wesley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of French Literatures at the University of Montreal since 2020. He is the author of "L’oubliothèque mémorable de L.-F. Céline. Essai de sociocritique," published in 2018 by the Presses Universitaires de Montréal. An active member of various research groups, including CRIST and CIREMM (Paris 8), Wesley has contributed to numerous collective works and articles in scholarly journals such as Revue des Sciences Humaines and Sociocriticism. His research primarily focuses on French novels from the 20th century prior to 1945, sociocriticism, collective amnesia, and the works of Louis-Ferdinand Céline. He is also interested in the auditory dimension of modern and contemporary novels, urban representation, and the interplay between literature and medicine. Currently, he is engaged in research projects examining the themes of collective memory and historical narratives in literature.
