Biography

Bernadette J. van Ewijk joined the marketing department of the University of Amsterdam Business School in 2018 after completing her Research Master in Marketing at Tilburg University in 2010. From 2010 to 2017, she held positions at AiMark, a non-profit cooperation between the academic and business world. She obtained her Ph.D. from Tilburg University, with a dissertation entitled “Purchase Behavior Consumers Emerging Markets.” Currently, she works as an Associate Professor, teaching research courses to bachelor and master students in the BSc Business Analytics program and MSc Data Science Business Analytics program, respectively. Her research primarily focuses on the impact of policy interventions aimed at improving consumer health and the effectiveness of marketing-mix strategies for consumer packaged goods. She analyzes data using appropriate techniques and clearly communicates implications to managers. Bernadette has received several awards, including the Robert D. Buzzell MSI Paper Award in 2015, the ISMS Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition in 2016, and was a finalist for the IJRM paper award in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, she has been awarded several grants for research projects related to consumer behavior and policy interventions.
