Bernardo holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), a master's degree in Informatics from the same institution (2009), and a PhD in Informatics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro with a sandwich period at Leibniz Universität Hannover (2014).
