Biography

Bernd Roling is a Professor of Latin Philology, focusing on the Latin Philology of the Middle Ages at Freie Universität Berlin. He was born in 1972 in Lingen, Emsland, and studied Medieval Latin Philology, Philosophy, History, and Hebrew Philology at the University of Münster, where he also acquired his doctorate in Latin Philology. His academic career includes positions at several prestigious universities, allowing him to deepen his research interests in Latin literature of the 12th and 13th centuries, allegory, and philosophical discourse in Medieval studies.
