Biography

Berry Eggen is a Full Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology, leading the Future Everyday group within the Department of Industrial Design. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His research focuses on user experience design, ambient intelligent systems, and ubiquitous computing. He has a strong background in physics and human-computer interaction, with specific interests in multimodal interaction and seamless design in everyday life. Eggen has previously served as a Principal Scientist at Philips Research for 14 years, where he led various research initiatives in intelligent interfaces and information ergonomics. Since starting his academic career at TU/e in 2003, he has contributed significantly to the field and was appointed Vice Dean of the Department of Industrial Design in 2006, a position he held until March 2018. His leadership extends to involvement in national research programs, including the Dutch Creative Industry initiative.
