Dr. Bert Chandler

Biography

Bert Chandler is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Chemical Engineering at Penn State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University. He completed his postdoctoral research in Chemical Engineering at the University of South Carolina. His research interests are focused on Environmental Catalysis, including Nanoparticle and Materials Synthesis as well as Catalytic Reaction Mechanisms. He has published numerous papers in prestigious journals such as the Journal of the American Chemical Society and Nature Chemistry, highlighting his significant contributions to the field, particularly in the areas of gold-based catalysis and reaction kinetics. His work has advanced the understanding of catalytic processes and has implications for improving environmental sustainability. Dr. Chandler's research group is dedicated to exploring innovative solutions for catalyst design and efficiency, aiming to harness nanotechnology for practical applications in chemical engineering and environmental science.
