Dr. Beryl Castello

Biography

Beryl Castello is a Senior Lecturer at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering, specializing in applied mathematics and statistics. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a Master of Science in Operations Research and Statistics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She completed her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University. With over a decade of teaching experience, she has been actively involved in the Applied Computational Mathematics program, where she is the program coordinator. Her research interests focus on operations research, discrete optimization, facility location, and inventory modeling, contributing valuable insights into these fields. Beryl is dedicated to advancing the understanding of complex systems through her work and educating the next generation of engineers and mathematicians.
