Biography

Beth Kreling is a Senior Policy Fellow at LSE Health and currently co-Principal Investigator for the African Health Observatory Platform (AHOP). She co-chairs LSE’s Global Health Initiative, an interdepartmental research unit, and has extensive experience in international development consultancy, particularly with a regional focus on Africa and India. Beth has led various multi-country research and development consultancy projects at LSE and has played a pivotal role in establishing the Global Health Initiative, supporting a range of projects including a significant multi-partner, EU-funded initiative focused on Big Data Outcomes. Currently, she co-leads the LSE team working on the AHOP, which leverages national and regional collaborations to form a network of National Centres, incorporating leading research institutions across several African nations such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Senegal. The AHOP is supported by a technical consortium from the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, in collaboration with LSE and various national and global partners. Prior to her role at LSE, Beth worked at the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Health Education Unit, engaging with stakeholders on education policy priorities across Commonwealth governments and NGOs. Additionally, she was the Chief Operating Officer of Link Community Development International, overseeing operations in the UK and five sub-Saharan African offices.
