Biography

Beth L. Parker is a Professor and NSERC Industrial Research Chair specializing in Hydrogeology at the University of Guelph. She focuses on groundwater contaminant transport, fate, and remediation across various geological settings. Dr. Parker's research interests include understanding the behavior of groundwater systems, field instrumentation, and aquifer/aquitard interactions. She is the Director of the Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute, where she leads investigations into groundwater resource characterization and monitoring, and engages in source water protection and risk analysis. Her innovative methodologies involve high resolution discrete fracture networks for site characterization and process-based predictive modeling. Dr. Parker has made significant contributions to the evaluation of contaminant plume behaviors in heterogeneous environments, especially in fractured and clayey systems.
