Biography

Bethan Page joined the Cicely Saunders Institute at King's College London in September 2023 as a Lecturer focused on children's health and palliative care research. She completed her DPhil/PhD at the University of Oxford, where her research centered on improving training and support for families caring for children with complex medical needs at home. She holds a BA in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Clinical Psychology from the University of Leiden. Additionally, she has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Policy Research Unit, conducting research on how Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) in health services adapt to various pressures. Throughout her career, Bethan has been involved in numerous research projects aimed at enhancing safety and quality of care for patients within the NHS. Her efforts have been bolstered by grant funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Health Foundation. Bethan also offers PhD supervision in areas such as children with medical complexities, paediatric palliative care, parental health and wellbeing, coproduction, patient safety, and home care models.
