After studying Psychology at the University of Konstanz and the University of California, Los Angeles, I completed my PhD at the University of Tübingen in 1996 and the Habilitation at the University of Konstanz. My professional activities in research, academic teaching, and clinical work began in 1997 as an Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Konstanz. In 2002, I transitioned to the UK as a Research Fellow at the Medical Research Council's Cognition Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge, and in 2003, I was appointed as a Reader in Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. By 2013, I joined Charité Universitätsmedizin, Berlin, as a Professor of Clinical Cognitive Neuropsychology in the Department of Psychiatry, CBF. Since 2019, I have been heading the Center for Neuropsychology and Intensive Language Therapy in Berlin.
