Biography

Betty Sue Flowers, Ph.D., is a distinguished academic known for her work in Rhetoric and Composition. She served as the Director of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library Museum starting in 2002 and held the title of Joan Negley Kelleher Centennial Professor in the English Department at the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout her career, Dr. Flowers has been recognized as a Piper Professor and a member of the University's Academy of Distinguished Teachers. Her academic journey began at the University of Texas and continued at the University of London. She has authored several notable publications, including an annotated edition of Christina Rossetti's complete poems for Penguin Classics. Beyond her published work, Flowers has contributed significantly to the field through various editorial projects and seminars. Noteworthy achievements include serving as a moderator for executive seminars at the Aspen Institute, consulting for NASA, and participating on visionary teams for the National Endowment for the Humanities.
