Professor Dr. Bhakti Hansoti

Biography

Bhakti Hansoti is an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her MBChB at the University of Edinburgh in 2006, followed by her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago in 2012, and earned her MPH from Johns Hopkins University in 2013. In 2016, she obtained her PhD from the University of Cape Town. Dr. Hansoti's research is primarily focused on the intersection of Global Health, Public Health, and Implementation Science, specifically in evaluating evidence-based interventions aimed at improving the health of vulnerable patients in emergency departments. Her work has included research in South Africa, addressing HIV service delivery in emergency settings and implementation strategies for emergency department-based surveillance of COVID-19 and influenza-like illnesses. She has been involved in significant international pandemic response efforts and holds several leadership roles within Johns Hopkins, including serving as the Director of the Center for Global Emergency Care and the International Emergency Medicine and Public Health Fellowship. Dr. Hansoti has authored numerous publications and has received various accolades for her contributions to emergency medicine research and education.
