Dr. Bhaskar Krishnamachari

Biography

Bhaskar Krishnamachari is a Professor and the Ming Hsieh Faculty Fellow at the Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California. He received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. A faculty member since 2002 in the Department of Electrical Engineering, he also holds a joint appointment in the Department of Computer Science. Krishnamachari directs the Autonomous Networks Research Group and co-directs the Ming Hsieh Institute. He has co-authored over 300 technical articles focusing on algorithms, protocols, and applications in wireless networks, the Internet of Things, distributed systems, blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. His contributions have earned numerous accolades, including being named an IEEE Fellow in 2023 and being featured in Popular Science's 'Brilliant Ten' list in 2015. He was also recognized in 2011 by MIT Technology Review's TR-35 as one of the top 35 innovators under the age of 35. His work has been widely cited, with more than 32,000 citations on Google Scholar, reflecting his impact in the field of electrical and computer engineering.
