Biography

Bhedita Seewoo completed her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Western Australia in 2022, recognized on the Dean's list. Her doctoral research focused on an in-vivo MRI study examining the effects of low-intensity rTMS on brain activity, chemistry, and structure in rodent models. Prior to her PhD, she earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Murdoch University in 2016, where she conducted her Honours project on resting-state fMRI studies of brain activation using rTMS in rats, resulting in upper first-class honors. Bhedita has received multiple awards for her academic performance, including the Forrest Research Foundation Scholarship and the UWA Dean’s list recognition. Her research interests include in-vivo MRI techniques and the application of low-intensity rTMS in understanding brain function, which informs the development of human study protocols. She is fluent in English, French, Hindi, and Mauritian Creole. Bhedita has contributed to various scientific conferences and has collaborated on multiple research projects.
