Biography

Biao Li is an Associate Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at Concordia University. He obtained a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the China University of Geosciences Beijing and a Ph.D. in Geomechanics from the University of Calgary. His research expertise focuses on energy-related experimental computational geomechanics, thermal-hydro-mechanical coupling, and soil-structure interaction. During his Ph.D. studies, he was awarded the Eyes High International Doctoral Scholarship at the University of Calgary and received the MITACS Acceleration Internship from 2013 to 2015. In 2021, he was recognized as a selected future leader by the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA). Additionally, Dr. Li serves as an associate editor for Geotechnical and Geological Engineering and Environmental Geotechnics and is a member of the editorial boards for Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, Marine Georesources & Geotechnology, and Deep Resources Engineering. He is committed to developing economic and efficient models for the energy, geotechnical, and geoenvironmental industries.
