Biography

Biao Lian is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at Princeton University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University and completed his bachelor’s degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. His main research interests include theoretical condensed matter physics, topological states of matter, two-dimensional systems, and strongly correlated systems. He has worked on topics in physics involving nonequilibrium many-body quantum systems, quantum dynamics, quantum information, quantum entanglement, and thermalization. Dr. Lian has received several notable awards, including the NSF Career Award in 2022, the Sloan Research Fellowship in 2021, and a gold medal at the 39th International Physics Olympiad.
