Dr. Biao Zhou

Biography

Biao Zhou is a professor in the Mechanical, Automotive & Materials Engineering department at the University of Windsor. He holds a PhD in Thermal Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University, where he studied from 1990 to 1994. His research interests encompass a range of areas including computational and experimental fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, multi-phase flow, combustion, and electrochemistry. Professor Zhou has worked extensively on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), electric and fuel cell powertrains, and system control. His contributions to the field also include investigations into 3D printing technologies, fuel cell science, and clean combustion technology. Over the years, he has published numerous articles in reputable journals, highlighting his work on catalyst supports for fuel cells and the modeling of power management in hybrid vehicles. His expertise is further recognized through his professional affiliations with the Professional Engineers Ontario, allowing him to bridge academic research with practical engineering challenges. Zhou's dedication to advancing knowledge in thermal sciences underpins his ongoing work in both academic and applied contexts.
