Biography

Bikramjit Das holds a PhD in Operations Research. His research analyzes rare extreme events utilizing tools from applied probability, optimization, and statistical learning. His work spans various application domains including insurance, finance, telecommunications, distributed and federated learning, congestion queuing, and social economic networks. He has experience as a post-doctoral researcher at RiskLab, ETH Zurich, and has held visiting positions at prestigious institutions such as MIT and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. At the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), he teaches undergraduate courses in Probability, Statistics, Simulation, and Analytics, along with graduate courses in Statistical Learning and Stochastic Modeling. Additionally, he serves as the Academic Program Director for the Master of Science in Technology and Design (Data Science).
