Biography

Bill Crofts directed the WUSAT Satellite Engineering Programme established in 2006. The programme includes the ES410 WUSAT Satellite Engineering Project, which promotes Space Engineering at the University of Warwick and throughout the Midlands Region. WUSAT boasts an alumni of over 100 student engineers who have participated in missions, gaining unique industry research experiences. Crofts remains active in research, regularly publishing papers that support WUSAT's promotion and research activities associated with WUSAT satellites. His current roles include serving as a Remote Referee for the European Research Council, as a Board Member for the UK Space Engineering & Technology Working Group, and as a member of various space and engineering networks. He has also advised university teams for several projects, including the UK CanSat project and the Mach21 CanSat initiative. Crofts has co-authored numerous publications, showcasing work from various space educational symposia and research on satellite engineering. His teaching and research focus largely on interdisciplinary collaboration and supporting inclusivity in engineering education.
