Billy Bromage received his Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Community Organization from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work in 2012. He has worked in community mental health in New Haven, Connecticut for 25 years. His experience includes his role in the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health starting in 2011 and his affiliation with the Connecticut Mental Health Center since 2013. He works as a community organizer, developing projects that engage grassroots leaders, individuals in recovery from mental illnesses and substance use, as well as collaborating with nonprofit organizations, city and state government officials, and civic leaders to promote mental health, social justice, and inclusion within New Haven neighborhoods. He is a founding member of Focus Act Connect Every-day (FACE), Witnesses to Hunger New Haven, and the Unhoused Activists Community Team (U-ACT). Additionally, Billy co-chairs the Structural Competency track of the Social Justice Health Equity curriculum and serves as a liaison for the Community Advisory Board of Elm City COMPASS.
