Biography

Associate Professor Billy Dennis is a physicist educator and the Director of Education in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering (MPBE). He specializes in postgraduate courses and distance learning, leading the MSc in Physics Engineering Medicine and overseeing the Distance Learning program. Mr. Dennis is also involved in various departmental roles, including Chair of the Departmental Education Committee and the Postgraduate Board Examiners. His broad research interests include Ionising Radiation Physics and Applied Medical Devices, as well as medical imaging treatments. He has contributed significantly to the educational landscape at UCL, having led the Institute of Healthcare Engineering Education Group and supervising imaging techniques projects related to Radiotherapy QA. He is dedicated to developing interactive teaching methods and adapting to the needs of distance learning students. Mr. Dennis joined UCL in 2013 after completing his MSc in Physics Engineering Medicine and has prior experience as a Secondary School Science Teacher in South London. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is actively involved in fostering industry partnerships to enhance students' educational experiences.
