Biography

Bin Yao is a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He received his Bachelor of Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1987, followed by a Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 1992, and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996. His research interests include adaptive robust control, nonlinear control, precision control of mechanical systems, vehicle control, and robotics. He has authored numerous publications and has received several prestigious awards, including the Changjiang Chair Professorship Award from the Ministry of Education P.R. China, the Outstanding Young Investigator Award from ASME, and the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.
