Biography

Binesh Hass (BA Toronto, LLB London, MSt DPhil Oxford) is a Departmental Lecturer in Law at the University of Oxford, where he teaches broadly in jurisprudence, medical ethics law, constitutional administrative law, criminal law, and tort law. His research encompasses several topics in legal philosophy, including (i) reasonableness in reasoning; (ii) authority in rules; and (iii) intention in public and private law. Before rejoining the Faculty of Law, Binesh was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of Philosophy’s Uehiro Centre, where he founded and continues to convene the Practical Ethics in Law Lectures. This initiative brings together philosophers and lawyers in a speaker–respondent format to address questions of common interest.
