Biography

Binota Moy Dhamai is a Research Fellow at the ANU Law School, with research focusing on examining comparative legal issues affecting Indigenous Peoples in colonized contexts. His expertise lies in Indigenous governance systems, self-determination, and human rights, where he serves as an expert member of the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, advising the UN Human Rights Council. He holds a PhD in Regulation and Global Governance and Master's degrees in Environmental Management and Development from the Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU, as well as a Bachelor's and Master's in Philosophy from the University of Dhaka.
