Biography

Bipasha Chakraborty is an Associate Professor of theoretical particle physics at the University of Southampton, where she is a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow in the High Energy Physics group. Her research focuses on lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), flavour physics, and precision tests of the Standard Model. Bipasha has been involved in significant research that combines large-scale High Performance Computation with particle physics, particularly in understanding the strong force, the fundamental interaction binding quarks and gluons into hadrons. She is committed to advancing the field through high-precision numerical Monte-Carlo simulations and exploring quantum computational approaches for Quantum Field Theories. In 2022, she was awarded the Joseph Fourier Prize for her contributions to research. In addition to her research endeavors, she is passionate about academic teaching and STEM outreach, currently teaching undergraduate labs and delivering PhD-level lectures on topics such as Lattice QCD and Quantum Computation. Bipasha is open to accepting PhD students and actively encourages interested candidates to reach out.
