Biography

Birgitta K. Siegel is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, where she guides the Securities Law Clinic. With 25 years of experience, she specializes in securities litigation and arbitration and currently manages a boutique litigation firm that represents individuals and entities in disputes against financial institutions, particularly broker/dealers. After graduating from law school, she joined a large Miami firm where she represented major broker/dealers in federal court arbitration, actively engaging in litigation concerning mandatory arbitration issues. Following her role as senior in-house counsel at Prudential Securities in New York City, where she managed high-profile litigations and class actions, Siegel transitioned to exclusively advocate for public investors against financial institutions. She has taught at Syracuse University College of Law, instructing students on securities cases. As a dedicated member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), she has served as Chair of PIABA's Self-Regulatory Organization Committee, authored numerous comment letters, advocacy papers, and served on the Board of Editors for the PIABA Bar Journal.
