Dr. Birte Jørgensen

Biography

Birte Holst Jørgensen is a Senior Researcher at the Technical University of Denmark, specializing in global scientific advice and research-based consultancy within the field of energy. She has significant expertise in energy research and development strategies, technology policies, and has held notable positions on several influential committees and boards related to energy, including the IEA Expert Group on R&D Priority Setting Evaluation and the Executive Committee of the European Climate Research Alliance. Jørgensen’s research areas encompass energy science, technology policy, and the energy transition. She has a robust academic background with a PhD in Political Science from Copenhagen University and an MSc in Business Economics Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Throughout her career, she has been involved in numerous high-level strategic projects and has contributed to variable energy policy initiatives both on a national and global scale. In addition to her research roles, she has also served as a consultant and held directing positions, including at Nordic Energy Research. Jørgensen actively engages with international collaborations and has been evaluated in various roles within the framework of Horizon 2020.
