Dr. Bishoy Yacoub

Biography

Bishoy Yacoub earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Alexandria University in Egypt and has a wealth of experience in hospital-based dentistry. He completed specialized training in Gerodontology (Geriatric Dentistry) and holds a Master of Dental Sciences (M.Sc.) from Université Laval. He also completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) in Special Care Dental Medicine at McGill University, Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences. Yacoub is a member of the Canadian Society Disability Oral Health (CSDH), the International Association Disability Oral Health (iADH), and the Network for Canadian Oral Health Research (NCOHR). His professional focus is on providing comprehensive care for older adults, neurodivergent individuals, and underserved communities, ensuring patient-centered care that addresses both physical and psychological needs. His areas of expertise include geriatric and special care dentistry, nitrous oxide sedation, and removable prosthodontics. Yacoub is actively involved in research related to Population Oral Health and has contributed to various publications in his field.
