Professor Dr. Björn Högberg

Biography

Björn Högberg is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work at Umeå University. His current research focuses on the importance of school wellbeing for pupils and the effects of parental unemployment on children's health. He has been involved in various research projects, including studies on domestic violence and adolescent mental health. His work examines social exclusion among youth in Europe, addressing cumulative disadvantage and effective coping strategies. Högberg is a member of the Health Illness Research Group and actively engages in research around social perspectives related to education, welfare issues concerning children, youth, and families.
