Biography

Björn Ottersten received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Linköping University, Sweden, in 1986, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, USA, in 1990. He was appointed as a Professor in signal processing at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 1991, where he heads the Department of Signals, Sensors, Systems. Additionally, he has held research positions at Linköping University, Stanford University, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, and the University of Luxembourg. He founded the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust at the University of Luxembourg. His research has been recognized with various awards, including the IEEE Fourier Technical Field Award and the EURASIP Group Technical Achievement Award. He has co-authored journal papers that received multiple IEEE Signal Processing Society Paper Awards and has been actively involved in editorial roles for several leading journals in the field. Dr. Ottersten is a fellow of IEEE, EURASIP, AAIA, and is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
