Biography

Bjorn Sandstede is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at Brown University, where his research focuses on nonlinear waves and pattern formation, as well as applied dynamical systems, computational biology, and mathematical biology. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Heidelberg and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Stuttgart. Since joining Brown in 2008, he has held previous positions at Ohio State University and the University of Surrey. His work involves significant collaboration, evidenced by his role as a founding principal investigator on the NSF grant that established Brown's Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM).
