Biography

Bjoern Schuller combines computer science with modern health care and medicine, focusing on the acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of biosignals generated in daily life for monitoring heart activity, metabolism, and neuronal activities. His research also evaluates acoustic and visual parameters to advance prevention, diagnosis, decision support, and intervention methods utilizing current Artificial Intelligence techniques. He earned his diploma in 1999, a doctoral degree in 2006, and habilitation in 2012 from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he is currently a Full Professor of Health Informatics since 2023. Previously, he was a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Imperial College London in 2013 and held significant positions at the University of Augsburg, University of Passau, and research roles at Joanneum Research in Graz and CNRS near Paris. Schuller is also a co-founding CEO and current Chief Scientific Officer at audEERING.
