Biography

Bjørn Bo Sørensen is a PhD fellow in the Development Economics Research Group (DERG) at the University of Copenhagen since September 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Politics from Copenhagen Business School and a Master of Science in Global Development from the University of Copenhagen. Before joining DERG, he worked as a research assistant for UNU-WIDER's SA-TIED programme. His research interests encompass the political economy of developing countries, with a particular focus on structural transformation, economic complexity, export upgrading, foreign direct investment (FDI), and state-owned enterprises (SOEs). In addition to his research activities, he serves as a teaching assistant for the course 'Global Development: Theories, Facts, Current Issues,' where he helps facilitate student learning and engagement in the subject matter.
