Biography

Blair is an award-winning journalist, scientist, and physician trained in emergency critical care medicine at McMaster and Stanford Universities. His academic focus explores the intersection of medicine, media, and society. He studies how health advocacy, science journalism, and medical education shape individual behaviors, organizational leadership, and public policy. Blair's work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, newscasts, and medical journals. He co-hosts the CMAJ Podcast and serves as the Director of Research, Education, and Innovation at healthydebate.ca. He is also an investigative reporter and scientific consultant for the Investigative Journalism Bureau. As a physician advocate, he witnesses the relationship between wealth and health daily and collaboratively shares the undertold stories of patients and healthcare providers. His two decades of work in governance roles provide insight into the challenges health leaders face in improving systems, working strategically and collaboratively. His upcoming book, "Death Interrupted: Modern Medicine Complicating the Way We Die," is scheduled for release in September 2025.
