Dr. Blas Pérez Henríquez

Biography

Blas L. Pérez Henríquez is a Senior Research Scholar at the Bill Lane Center for the American West at Stanford University. He focuses on regional low-carbon development opportunities and the advancement of clean innovation to foster a new clean economy. He directs the Local Governance Summer Institute at Stanford and leads the Stanford-Mexico Clean Economy 2050 program. His professional background includes serving as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the School of Engineering and Sciences of the Technological Institute of Superior Studies of Monterrey, and as a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics. Pérez Henríquez has authored significant works, including contributions to environmental economics and public policy, and has collaborated with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. His educational qualifications include a Master’s and Ph.D. in Public Policy from UC Berkeley, and he has served in various advisory roles focusing on sustainability and energy policy. He has been involved in academia for decades, contributing to multiple advisory boards and directing various initiatives related to public policy, clean energy, and sustainable development.
