Blythe de Oliveira Foster currently serves as the Director of the Performance Program and Lecturer in MIT's Theater Arts Program. Her collaborative works bridge performance, place, and community engagement. Recent projects include performing internationally with Centro Anidra in Italy, as well as local acting work in Boston for Umbrella Arts' multimedia production NETWORK. She has curated workshops for Brazilian guest artist Geo Britto, directed MIT’s Spring 2025 Production of Anne Carson's Antigonick, and conceived the immersive installation Saudades. Blythe has taught acting and voice, and directed productions in the BFA and BA Programs at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Salem State University. She has worked as an artist-in-residence in public schools across the San Francisco Bay Area and taught summer workshops for youth in China. With a passion for supporting emerging artists, Blythe has produced several world premieres and served as the community engagement liaison for various artistic projects. Her acting credits span several prestigious theaters in California and New York, as well as international performances in France.
