Biography

Bo He is a mid-career researcher affiliated with the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and the University of Western Australia. He obtained his PhD in 2013 from UWA, where his doctoral research focused on the biology of aging-related diseases. Following his PhD, Bo undertook postdoctoral training as a Research Officer from 2013 to 2018 and has served as a Research Associate since 2019. He pioneered the therapeutic induction of tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) to enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy in cancer treatment. Bo supervises PhD students and early-career scientists, contributing to the training of the next generation of cancer researchers. His main research interests converge on translating basic discoveries into clinical strategies that improve survival and quality of life for cancer patients, particularly focusing on pancreatic cancer, brain cancer, colon cancer, melanoma, and lung cancer.
