Biography

Bob Webb has held senior leadership positions in large, diversified organizations, including General Manager roles in the private sector and Deputy Secretary roles in the public sector, such as with the Australian Trade Commission and the Australian Taxation Office. He has expertise across various disciplines including strategy development, change management, policy development, and operational program delivery. Bob joined the Australian National University’s Climate Change Institute, now part of the Fenner School of Environment and Society, as a Visiting Fellow, with a focus on sustainable development and climate change. Currently, he serves as an Honorary Associate Professor in the Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions. His qualifications include a BSc (1st Class Hons) in Physics from Kings College, London University, a PhD in Astrophysics from Sydney University, and an MLitt in Political Science from the Australian National University. His research interests focus on sustainable economic, social, and environmental development, complex systems, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and sustainable urban development initiatives. Bob is also involved in various projects that integrate stakeholder engagement and trans-disciplinary approaches to policy and practice.
