Dr. Bodhisattva Sen

Biography

Bodhisattva Sen is a Professor of Statistics at Columbia University, New York. He specializes in core statistical research areas including nonparametrics and large sample theory, with particular emphasis on nonparametric function estimation and likelihood bootstrap based inference in non-standard cases. His research also explores the applications of optimal transportation within statistical models. Sen is actively involved in interdisciplinary research, particularly in the field of astronomy. He completed his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2008 and previously obtained his Bachelor's (B.Stat.) and Master's (M.Stat.) degrees in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Outside of his academic pursuits, he enjoys travel, photography, and cricket.
