Biography

Bodil Hammer Bech is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology within the Department of Public Health at Aarhus University. Her research focuses on maternal and child health, specifically investigating how maternal illness during pregnancy and chronic conditions, as well as socio-economic factors, affect children's health and well-being. Bech also examines the long-term effects of COVID-19, serving as a Co-Principal Investigator for the BiCoVac project, which aims to understand the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine and the persistent symptoms associated with the virus. She has extensive experience in epidemiological methods and data analysis, drawing from large population studies and registry data, and she is a trained medical doctor. She is also a co-author of the Danish textbook "Epidemiologi og Evidens (3rd edition)" and actively supervises PhD students.
