Biography

Bohdana Kurylo is a Fellow in Qualitative Methodology at the London School of Economics, specializing in International Relations and critical security studies. Her academic journey began with a PhD from University College London, where she focused on East European Studies. Bohdana's research explores the nexus of International Relations theory with a particular emphasis on post-Soviet regions, interpreting the role of civil society as a significant security actor in the sociopolitical landscapes of Eastern Europe. Her doctoral thesis examined the abortion rights struggle in Poland and the Ukrainian resistance against Russian aggression. She employs hermeneutic-contextualist methodologies to analyze the political dimensions of security discourses within populist movements. Bohdana is also dedicated to feminist-decolonial ethics in qualitative research, contributing to the politics of knowledge production in International Relations.
