Biography

Bojana Rakic is a Clinical Professor and Biochemical Geneticist at the University of British Columbia and at BC Children’s Hospital. She serves as the Director of the Biochemical Genetics Laboratory and the Training Program Director for the Laboratory Biochemical Genetics Fellowship Program in British Columbia. Her research focuses on applied research related to the development of novel diagnostic tests and monitoring strategies for patients with inherited metabolic disorders. She has conducted extensive translational research to better understand the pathophysiology of these disorders. Bojana's academic background includes a fellowship from the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists in Biochemical Genetics and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship awarded by NSERC. She holds a PhD in Biological Chemistry from the University of Ottawa and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
